By the time you hit Act 2, you’ll probably have picked up the “Hostile Takeover” job from Uhtred in Kauroa. He’s got a bone to pick with a guy called The Overseer who’s muscled in on the local quarries, and you’re the one who’s gonna fix it. The target’s holed up in the Kauroa Karui Quarries, just outside town. It’s a big open area crawling with Karui fighters, so don’t get bogged down fighting every single one. Clear the ones blocking your path and keep pushing toward the marker – you’ll save time and keep your flasks topped up. If you’ve stocked up on PoE 2 Currency for gear or potions, this is a good time to make sure you’re ready before heading in.
Once you reach the far end, you’ll walk straight into The Overseer’s turf. He’s a huge, armoured brute swinging a weapon that looks like it could split a wagon in half. His swings are slow but brutal, so standing toe-to-toe is a bad idea. You’ll notice his attacks are easy to read – he telegraphs every move – so use that to your advantage. Roll or dash behind him after a heavy swing, land a couple of hits, then get clear. His ground slam is the one that’ll ruin your day: weapon up high, big circle on the ground, and you’ve got maybe two seconds to move. Get caught, and you’ll eat massive damage plus a stun. He’s also got a charge attack that’s more bark than bite – just sidestep it.
What makes the fight messy is the reinforcements. At around three-quarters health, then again halfway, he’ll call in a pack of Karui grunts. Ignore them and you’ll get boxed in, which means no room to dodge his big swings. Best move is to drop everything and clear them fast – they’re not tough, but they’re dangerous when you’re focused on the boss. Once they’re gone, you can go back to baiting his slow attacks and chipping away at his health.
The whole thing’s a rhythm game – bait, dodge, hit, back off. Don’t get greedy; two or three hits per opening is plenty. Keep your eyes open for the ground slam tell, and always be ready to break off for the adds. This isn’t about burning him down in record time – it’s about staying alive and wearing him down bit by bit. When he finally drops, you can breathe easy. Head back to Uhtred in Kauroa, hand in the job, and enjoy the rewards – a chunk of XP and a skill point. And if you’re looking to prep for the next big fight, grabbing some extra PoE 2 Currency buy wouldn’t be a bad shout.
